After spending tens of hours making an extensive list of custom playlists for my tables, discovering an app that does custom mood music better with next to zero prep almost made me cry tears of joy. The ability to quickly shift the mood of the music by adding tension or raising intensity is incredible, and the music remains interesting while also not being distracting.

- Autumn Croser

Pocket Bard has become a necessity in my games, immersing my players in the world of our campaign. Our group has especially enjoyed the intensity slider, which allows you to seamlessly transition between a high-tension battle and a low-stakes skirmish. In my opinion, it's the best TTRPG music service on the market.

- Jeffrey L.

Pocket Bard has made me a better DM.

- Bruce Wright

I use Pocket Bard Windows version for my every session as a DM and I'm very happy with it. It's a different kind of high when you press a "Howl" button right before fight with the wolves and players look at you like you're some sort of magician! There's still some room for QoL improvements, so I can't wait for new versions.

- Mokkor

As a new GM and an avid story teller, I needed music for my games but also being a content creator, I was limited on my options. PocketBard was the next-level option that blew my expectations out of the water. Safe music and audio for almost every session, seamless transitions between moods, and easy-to-use UI. I absolutely love it and can't imagine running games without it now!

- NeonGeek

I wish I could put into words just how much I love Pocket Bard. By using any of the incredible content they've put out, they've taken my homebrew game from being just a shared story into a completely immersive experience. My players love the tension, the excitement and extra detail it brings, and I'm so glad to have found something so unbelievably cool!!

- Robyn E.

I've been using Pocket Bard in my games for a while now. Having the ability to swap seamlessly between different scenes for both exploration and combat has really upped the immersiveness of any session. I can't imagine not using it now.

- Pip

As a professional DM, this is hands down the best way to inject immersion into your game.

- Jed Palmer / The Campfire

As a new DM I found audio a challenge, wanting something to immerse players without overloading myself - I've found Pocket Bard invaluable, being able to adjust the intensity of the music allows me to easily and effectively manage the mood of the game.

- David C.

Our Campaign, The Veiled Light, has used Pocket Bard for months now and we have loved it! It has helped us tell the amazing stories we like to tell, and helped the players feel like they are in the scene their characters are experiencing. It's easy to use and has music and audio effects for most every TTRPG situation. We love you Pocket Bard!

Frequently asked questions

If you have anything else you want to ask, reach out to us.

    • Are the tracks royalty free? Can I use the app for streaming my games online?

Yes! We own the rights to all the music, and you can use Pocket Bard for streaming. Please give us a shout out though, as it really helps us to grow, and continue to make the app better!

    • Is there a way to integrate Pocket Bard with Discord?

Not directly, but we have a Windows version (currently in Open Beta) to make Discord integration much easier. If you have a Silicon-based Mac, the iOS app can run on that as well. Check out our Discord server for the link to the Windows Open Beta, as well as other workarounds!

    • What do I get from the Open Worlds subscription?

In addition to all the free content (17 locations), the Open Worlds subscription unlocks all other content, like Sci-Fi, Horror, Desert, and more (30+ additional locations with so many more to come)! We're constantly working on new music and sound effects (40+ one-shots and 15+ ambiences), and we also regularly go back and update the existing content!

    • Where does your music come from? Is it made with AI?

We are deeply invested in working with and promoting artists at Pocket Bard. We are proud to say that all of our music is written by our team of composers! If you'd like to learn more about the artists behind the music, tap a scene in the Pocket Bard app's Content page to learn who helped create it!

    • Do you have a media kit?

Yes! You can download the Pocket Bard Brand Guidelines and our Media Kit (.zip), which includes brand assets and official logos.

    • How can I delete my Pocket Bard account?

If you would like to delete your Pocket Bard account, you can follow the steps described on our Account Deletion page.

    • What platforms are supported?

The Pocket Bard app is available on iOS (Minimum OS: iOS 16.1) and Android (Minimum OS: Android 9). We also have a Windows version of the app in Open Beta! If you have a Silicon-based Mac, you can also download and run Pocket Bard from the Mac App Store!

    • Why is there a subscription rather than a one-time purchase model?

We're committed to the long-term growth and improvement of Pocket Bard. In 5 years, we believe the app will look, sound, and feel very different than it does today. Everything always has room for improvement, and our vision is to create the best app and the best content we possibly can. We've seen other apps with one-time purchases fail to improve long-term because they have to keep releasing new, increasingly obsolete content just to stay in business. We don't want this to happen to us. We also want our free content, like Fantasy Essentials, to keep improving over time while remaining ad-free. Just this last year, we were able to improve our Forest location, as well as provide additional free locations, such as Cave, Dwarven Kingdom, and our most ambitious project to date, Tavern. All of this, as well as paying the incredible artists behind these projects would not be possible without the subscription. The subscription allows those who can afford it, and want the extra content, to contribute to the development of the app in a way that benefits all our users, not just paying ones. We have a variety of costs associated with hosting, distributing, and improving all of the free content, and this lets us keep it free forever.
