Tabletop Gaming Content
If you are using Pocket Bard to score a tabletop roleplaying game, you already have our permission. This includes sessions played in person or online, live streams, recorded video, actual play shows, and podcasts, and it applies whether or not your content is monetized.
We ask only that you credit us somewhere your audience can see it, using the credit line below.
Everything Else
Use of Pocket Bard audio outside a tabletop gaming context requires written permission from us. This includes films, non-gaming video, music channels, events, and commercial projects.
Game stores and third spaces do not need to ask. If you run a game store, café, library, or other third space, you are welcome to play Pocket Bard in your venue, whether on the main floor or in a private gaming room, without checking with us first. We ask that you credit us as the audio provider for your location, and we have made a printable flyer you can download and display if that is easier.
For everything else, please email partnerships@pocketbard.app with:
- Your channel or project name, and any applicable links like website and socials
- A description of the content, and how you would like to use Pocket Bard
- Whether the project is monetized, or sponsored by anyone else
We review these individually and reply as quickly as we can.
The Credit Line
We ask that you include the following in your channel or video description:
Uses Pocket Bard (pocketbard.app) under Pocket Bard's Creator Policy. Music by the Pocket Bard composers. Not endorsed by or affiliated with Pocket Bard Inc.
This wording is written to be copied and pasted, and using it as it stands is the simplest way to meet the credit requirement. A verbal mention during your content is always welcome in addition, though the description line is what we ask for.
For any use approved under the section above, including this line is a condition of that permission.
Applies from August 14, 2026. If you have been using Pocket Bard under our earlier credit guidance, there is nothing you need to revisit in content you have already published. We ask only that you use the line above going forward.
What Permission Does Not Cover
Permission to use Pocket Bard audio does not extend to:
- Our logo, artwork, or brand assets, except as allowed in our brand kit
- Use of the Pocket Bard name in your channel, series, or product name
- Merchandise of any kind
- Posting our audio as standalone tracks, compilations, or background music uploads
- Any channel or project other than the one we approved
We Are Not Your Sponsor
Use of Pocket Bard is not a sponsorship, endorsement, partnership, or affiliation, and we ask that it not be described as one. Please do not present your content as official, approved, or produced in association with us, and please do not associate Pocket Bard with your own sponsors or advertisers.
If we do work together on something, we will say so clearly and you will know about it.
What We Will Not Approve
We are happy to see Pocket Bard used in a wide range of places, though there are a few we would rather not be part of. We generally decline requests involving:
- Adult or sexually explicit content
- Content that glorifies or incites real world violence, or that is hateful toward people for who they are
- Gambling or betting content
- Cryptocurrency or token promotion
- Active political campaigning
This reflects where we are comfortable having our name appear, and is not a comment on the quality of anyone's work.
Withdrawing Permission
Permission under this policy is revocable at our discretion, and ends automatically if the policy is breached. If we ask you to stop, we will tell you what needs to be removed and allow a reasonable period to do it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this page from time to time. The version published at pocketbard.app/creator-policy is the version that applies.
Where an update introduces a new request of creators, it applies to content published on or after the date of that update. We will not ask you to go back and revise work that was already published, though you may do so if you wish.
Questions? Please email partnerships@pocketbard.app. Logos and press photos are available in the Pocket Bard Brand Kit.
